A Rare poster of the Channel 50 WKBD in Detroit & Channel 61 in Cleveland TV Legend
The Ghoul
Loosely based on Ernie Anderson's Ghoulardi, Ron Sweed created the character of The Ghoul with Anderson's blessing after having been Anderson's Production Assistant on The Ghoulardi show in the early to mid 60s.
The Ghoul Show started in 1970 and was syndicated to various TV markets outside of Ohio and Detroit, including Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. The show did very well in Detroit, where we pretty much adopted him as our own.
I bought the 11" X 17" Poster myself from The GHOUL himself at the Comic Book Convention in Novi Michigan a while back. He took time out to talk a bit and from that you could tell he was a genuinely good guy.
I sold my Original Poster on Ebay for 0 !!!! Got to thinking about the Ghoul Show and what a cool guy he was, I gave the Buy'er his money back.
