Alfa Romeo 1300cc Short Stroke Motor

One of the two Alfa Romeo short stroke motors pictured is for sale. One has Dell'Orto carbs and one has Solex carbs. These motors are 1357cc instead of the standard 1290cc. These short-stroke motors have a bore of 80mm like the Alfa 1750 motors (instead of 74mm standard 1300cc) and a stroke of 67.5 like the Alfa GTA Junior. These are especially friendly at high RPM and at racing preparation trim are 8800 RPM motors. They are a joy to drive on the street as well. One motor is offered for sale with a 30 day return policy if the motor turns out to not be re-buildable for some reason. We would like the new owner to be happy with the motor and will hold the purchase price in escrow for 30 days after delivery. The motor is complete with starter and alternator. Nothing has been tested as to function as they are as they arrived from Italy. That is another reason for a 30 warantee. Only the shipping costs are assumed by the new owner in each direction if the motor is returned. The motor turns freely. These motors came from a model Alfa never imported into the USA. That model was equipped with a transaxle and as such the crankshaft would require machining the pilot bushing hole in the rear part of the crankshaft to accept a new pilot bushing and the transmission pilot shaft. NOTE that the motor has a spin-on oil filter like the later Alfa 2 liter cars and would get in the way of the steering if put into a Giulietta-based car. For that application, to clear the steering, a remote oil filter adapter is suggested and works well.
